Raised in a SOLID family unit by a musician father and abstract painter mother, Eric Welton, AKA Emmaculate, was groomed for the arts. As a child he dug into his parents’ and older brother’s record collection spanning from The Beatles and James Taylor to Run D.M.C. and The Fat Boys.
Growing up outside Chicago, he was exposed to the sounds of HOUSE music in the late 80’s as a teenager and the obsession began. Nicknamed Emmaculate as a play on words because of his immaculate attention to detail and quality, Eric became one of Chicago’s go to producers and sound engineers. In 2017 Emmaculate began releasing his own MUSIC, adhering to his personal vision of ENTERTAINMENT. His break out single, “Do It” ft. vocalist Kaye Fox, released on Terry Hunter’s T’s Box Records, reached the Traxsource Top 10 Soulful House chart. He has since released several singles and remixes, as well as an EP, on Dopewax, United Music, Soulstice Music, S&S Records, and T’s Box – where he now manages operations.
Recently, Emmaculate played lived sets at Mi Casa Holiday in Mexico, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and SXSW, with Jazzy Jeff and Wayne Williams. This summer he appears at The Chosen Few DJ’s Festival in Chicago and is scheduled to return to Mi Casa Holiday & ADE in October.
